Anyone made an rc pilot boat from this company, looks like a good model boat for the winter surf. https://www.safehavenmarine.com/home

That video is at least 14years old, if you wanted one 13years ago he said it would cost you 3.5k today probably 6k in UK pounds. Google search hints at Mountfield having moulds, l think the fair weather lifeboat people should be shocked. Has RC boating 2 opposite ways of thinking, one side going for 100% accuracy and the other wanting a boat that will sail in rough weather with out sinking or capsizing.

THAT model was used to develop the full size Safehaven 42. The model hull was made available after
that for a few hundred. But I am notsure who has the moulds for it now.

Talked to Neil,

Quote
Frank Kowalski owner of Safehaven Marine had been approached by the RNLI  to produce a model of hi 42'
Intercepter pilot boat as they wanted a replacement for the Mersey class lifeboat, and wanted to evaluate a number of
existing boats, one being the 42' interceptor, but they also wanted to see how self rightable it was.
They had been out on  the real boat from Cork, eire, but couldn't even in the worst weather and sea stated to get
her to turn over or even broach, and so Frank asked me to build a self righting model.....
.
.....the one in the video. he also asked me to make a show case model, but i built one for myself.....
.....however he liked both colour schemes, and so bought both off me. after producing it as a semi kit, i handed
it all over to Dave Metcalf, who himself handed it over too Models by Design in a deal for a lazer cutter i believe, and
sadly that is where it is still owned by the Griggs. these are the photos of the show case models, but i don't think
Mountfleet models has the rights to the kit

Would a Lifeboat Hull be a reasonable one for building the 42 boat.  Some hulls have raised sections at the rear,  if that was cut for a deck that would  have a smooth transition from bow to stern work? This boat will be for sailing in the sea during winter and spring to avoid seaweed.  The boat just needs to look similar not perfect scale or detail.
