Canadian Logging Tugs Fonts
« on: September 04, 2022, 07:48:57 pm »

Hi All,
Does anyone know what fonts the Canadians use for their Logging tugs names, I have looked everywhere, but cant find any reference to fonts used, so I thought I would reach out to members who may have the answer to my question?

From the few pictures showing lettering it looks like Ariel or something very similar

Hi All,
Managed to get the correct font its (Buffalo Western font).
Couple of pictures of my latest logging tug that i have been building of/on for the last 3 years, now nearly finished, 1/16 scale 100mm korts, working lights, lowering raising mast and working main winch.

nice job, looks a bit odd with the planks across instead of for and aft, never seen that before. nemesis

Sorry for being ignorant. I would have thought that the font would vary from company to company. Or is there a provincial standard for all such craft, and if so, would all provinces be the same?

Hi All,
Some logging tugs plank fore and aft others port to starboard either wood or rubber deck to cater for spiked logging boats that a deckhand wears.
The font was for Harken towing.
