And we criticise the younger generation for spending too much time staring at their screens!  %% %%

Enjoyed the latest film by Guy Richie- the Ministry of Ungentlementary Warfare- over the top I initially thought until I discovered it was actually based on real events! Even then I thought it must embellished until you find out it wasn’t that much different to the real story.
Currently watching the new series of SAS Rogue Heroes, funny and says it’s based on true events but not 100% but at least it’s a laugh and they get a lot right. Glad they showed the involvement of the LRDG in the first series.

A great film with Noel Coward and excellent suporting cast.  The captain portrayed did not deserve it!Just my humble opinion!
Found this quote.

In his naval service he was known as “the master of disaster” because of his unerring ability to pilot warships into inanimate objects.

Tom Hanks is a great Actor, but he really played his part in a film GREYHOUND.

I actually liked this better than Pearl Harbour.

I watched this more than three times and on every viewing saw something extra I had not noticed in the previous viewings.

Several months after the U.S. entry into World War II, an inexperienced U.S. Navy commander must lead an Allied convoy being stalked by a German submarine wolf pack. Based upon the novel "The Good Shepherd" by C S Forester, this is the thrilling story of an Allied convoy crossing the North Atlantic in 1942 as it faces relentless attack by a German submarine wolf pack. The leader of the convoy's destroyer screen is a US Navy commander making his first Atlantic crossing. The story focuses on his command responsibility as he fights the cold, the relentless night, the brutal sea, and his deep fatigue as he chases down the attacking submarines in the deadly game of cat and mouse. The exciting story, a thrilling ride-along with the beleaguered captain, so deeply portrays the elements of battle command that for a long period of time the book was used as a text at the US Naval Academy

Off piste a bit but there is a recent TV series which is has just about the worst of misleading names you can imagine.  It is called U-Boat war gamers.
It is the factual account of how the U boat threat was defeated during WW2, it comes in 6 episodes.  When you realise that it was a group of very bright ladies in the Navy who came up with the various strategies that turned the tide on the U boats in the battle of the Atlantic, you wonder why they are never mentioned!
The ladies are named at the end and their later life detailed.
Do not miss it!!!!

I was surprised when I recorded A Timeless Christmas, I thought Oh dear! I am starting to like chic flicks!  But on checking with the review sites , much to my surprise, they all liked it too!  I have watched it a couple of times now and always enjoyed it.
Films do not always need to be war or action to be enjoyable.
