Vandals
« on: October 08, 2022, 12:53:40 am »

Our club lakeside storage container was attacked by graffiti so-called "artists" recently, and one of our members, Martin Whitehead, took it upon himself to clean it. Five paper rolls, a litre  of thinners, and three hours later, he'd restored it to its original condition. A great job Martin, thank you :-))

Very nice view.   It should be on the route that includes all the painted silos  O0

We have the same issue in Wollongong Peter  >>:-(

I am not sure what can be done, other than ensuring such vandalism is reported to your Local Police Command, with a Report Incidence number provided

Obviously, your member Martin has provided a quick resolution and should be thanked  :-))

Our local Council used to have a rapid graffiti removal team.  :police:   I'm not sure if it is still in operation with all the cuts  <:(

Just looked up their website, they try to remove it within a day.

Brian, we were given some anti graffiti treatment which we applied to the mural. Obviously it won’t stop the vandals, but it does make their rubbish easier to remove. In most cases, it’s only the taggers that deface murals, those that do the more sophisticated graffiti usually prefer a clear surface. Both types are infuriating, but catching them in the act is the hard part.

Trouble is, being in Oz, there's nowhere else to send them. %)  Other problem is, the purps only get a talking to IF apprehended. Lot to be said for the cat. O0   No pain, no gain.

If that is aimed at me jaymac, sorry to upset your sensitivities. So many of todays problems stem from the 'No fear' attitude displayed by some of our society and NO, National service is NOT an answer. Why should the Military be polluted with having to teach a basic respect? Sadly, we have been pre-conditioned to accept that some have the right to do whatever THEY find acceptable.  :-X

Sadly, it's others who do the reaping from someone else's sowing so the 6000 population of Easter Island end up with the vandalism by the 100,000 tourists, including graffiti on the Maoi and even, allegedly, driving a vehicle into one?

No Ian, nobody in particular just stating a fact and think useless rants in a society that glorifies graffiti artists like banksy there's no point.

The detention centre I mentioned is on Christmas Island, in the Indian Ocean. Easter Island is half a world away in the Pacific Ocean.

I agree. The thing about graffiti artists is that some of them are extremely talented, and it galls me that they don’t put that talent to better use. The taggers, on the other hand, are nothing but vandals.
