boat sound systems.
« on: November 13, 2022, 09:01:27 pm »

Hi Folks. Ive just started sorting out a few "new" items for a forthcoming build, but am struggling to find any decent engine sound modules or "boat horn modules". Ive placed my trust in Action electronics for years as they have never failed me, but ive not seen them show any stock levels for quite some time, so am trying to source from elswhere.

any suggestions please. :) :-))

I've been extremely pleased with Model Sounds in Canada. Here's a picture of a dual speaker module for my Waveney. It operates with a 4S 2000mAh dedicated lipo:

Here is a link to their website:

Try email / calling them, they usually have good stock but not keep the website up to date...

Haven't tried this yet but it's been used by others on here. I'm certainly going to try it for job I'm working on.https://www.forge-electronics.co.uk/index.php/boats/16-ch-sfx.html

Hi Guys, many thanks to those that have replied, ive looked at some of the systems suggested, the Canadian one looks nice but carries a heavy cost, its more expensive the the complete kit, ha ha.
Yes ive spoken to Action, but come up against a solid rock there too....the tug horn modules are awaiting a "build session", same as they were 2 years ago, but more importantly, for those out there who have a "noisey thing"....look after it, as even if yu did accidentally damage it, they may no longer be able to repair, as apparently 2 important components are no longer made, which means a complete redesign of the circuit board. So thats not going to happen too quickly.  yes i can and have ordered a smalle engine sound board from them, but still trying to source a "horn", the old Admiralty electronics ones used to be reliable, but again seen defunct now and not advertised....shame.

ive read about the "forge" one, but it seems you have to do a lot of hard work yourself first. having to source sound files, then convert them to the format of the item, then download to it. majority of the other systems come with their own programs that do the sound converting for you.
