I use a large plastic bowl serviced with olive oil salt and ground pepper to finger mix my hand cut chips before going in the air fry
They are to die for

I use a homemade herb mix… oregano, thyme, garlic granules, mustard powder and black pepper. Pump action oil sprayer is very useful for controlling the oil. Tastes wonderful. I use it on fries, wedges and roast potatoes as well as any other roast veggies.

We bought a Ninja Max 5.2 just before Christmas directly from Ninja and I can honestly say it’s excellent, we are still experimenting with it but so far food coming out of it has been really good. We even took it with us to our Boat for the new year dinner, the roasties were great and only took around 15 minutes, normally they take about 45 minutes in the small oven we have on the boat and it saved us the gas.

I used the air-fryer to make pasties from scratch today.
I made and used a hot water paste (easy peasy), as this takes all the fiddly magic out of making pastry, and because it is difficult to get frozen pastry where I live.
I think the trick is to make smaller, whale back, pasties that will fit in the air fryer and still allow plenty of room for the air to circulate. A bit of egg wash, and hey-presto. I popped these into the fryer without pre-heating it and they turned out just fine.

Has anyone bought the Ninja Speedi ?    Seems to have rave reviews , just wonder if it is a bit too advanced for my culinary skills  ?

Well the frozen chip makers are starting to put Temp/Times on the packets for air frying. Though my machine already has a list for frozen though I only do frozen fish 10-12 mins

Looking at the reviews on YT, the Ninja Speedi is much more than an air fryer. Certianly much more than the basic fryer I have, and it will do more. Looking at the reviews, I would have thought that for one or two people it could replace a standard cooker easily.
Once I have watched a review I always consider if it was an advertorial, or there are affiliated links, or if it seems to be an independant unbiased review. The reviews I watched looked genuinly independant.
The Ninja Speedi does look like a good bit of kit.

The dual zone looks like a good idea with the option of cooking different foods at the same time on different settings. I presume the single pot/drawer types only do one type of cooking at a time? I would use mine in conjunction with a gas hob to boil vegetable (with the side benefit of heating plates and providing nutritious boiling water for gravy  O0

I wonder when the  first combo Hob-air dryer appliance as a built in option will arrive? It would be a game changer for flats of small houses where major catering is unlikely to happen. It would be the new baby Belling!

I am tempted to get a Dual Zone when I next have disposable income.

We have the Ninja 5 in 1 with 2 drawers. Between that and a combi microwave/oven/grill the conventional oven is superfluous and even the hob rarely gets used.
