metal parts for warships
« on: January 24, 2023, 11:30:21 am »

Hi Peeps looking for parts that people use to build there scratch built warships, mine are 1/96. I see certian makers/shops do so many parts but not all, but not many do them in small packages as did sirmar. Which you could only by as a kit form, Is there any out there willing to make/surply the parts/items.

That's all right, Mr Ryan. My Morse is so rusty, I could be sending him dimensions on Playmate of the Month.

Detomo, have you actually contacted Barry from Sirmar with regards to fittings?

He has made several fittings by themselves for me on a few occasions such as bollards and made a resin helicopter for me also.  Very good quality.

He also made me a couple of fairleads for my current model HMS Lindisfarne.

He does work through the day so its a good time at night to ring him.

hi all and one :-)

Whilst lying in the bath pondering the wonders of the world and why the soap always disappears - I thought about this gentleman John R Haynes - he used to make some cracking fittings / excellent brass etching rails  for modelling - I do know he stopped selling the things he made from his own shop - and I am sure he passed some of the stuff over to somebody else.   It may be worth trying to contact John and he may help you out.  Worth a try.
