  A real piece of model boating history, Guess from the middle of the last century . A beautifully made 52 " steam launch, clinker built . Obviously steamed in the past ,perhaps spirit fuelled ? Long before the days of radio controlled perhaps you had to set it on a circular course and hope it came back.  Would clean up beautifully with some lite restoration. I assume that the engine is the Stuart compound launch engine,  £3 15s  0d  in 1965. 
  Part of the March auction at Mathewsons ( the car auction house mob)   probably end up on television in a few months time.

Looks very much like it is made from the Wide-A-Wake plan.
