So you should be! That Bridge and mast is crisp work. I like to see well formed corners, or at least filled and blended ones. Those angles look fun to recreate!

The hangar roof is top notch as well with all the door mechanism showing.

Thanks Ian,  :-)) :-))

I try to build as tight joints as possible, helps with filling and painting.

I thought USS Roosevelt forward super structure was full of corners but this has more. I’ve still got the after funnel and aft mast super structure.

It goes to show that just because new fangled warships are all smooth and anglier on the outside, they are still bristling with equipment on the inside.

Chris.
I have seen a few models that can sail which also have a natty stand for display at model shows and at home on the mantelpiece!

Hi Chris,

Thanks, yes she a working model. The stand is my normal method of stand, which has two usage one being for transport and the other show display.

Photos, showing how the stand works, the two pins fit into tubing that’s fitted in the hull and caps off to make them water tight

Hi Ian,

Yes modern warships are all moving to stealth design. What I like about this ship is the mission bay and hanger. It gives me room to do a lot of detailing.

Yes the stand is for shows and easy transport.

Good oh! Someone on Mayhem was really working hard on making opening boat hatches and derricks as well as other systems. I think it may have been the Late Andy (Taranis)

Good oh! I knew someone in Mayhem land had done some serious experimenting on doors and systems. Brian used to live in Spain. I hope he's alright after COVID.

Hi All,

I’m planning on finishing the BoatBay detailing and the main wiring loom for Belfast, (photos later this month) after which, she’ll be put on hold until I can collect more info.

In the mean time I’ll restart back on the Oliver Hazard Peary project that I put on hold for this build.

So frustrated, >>:-( >>:-( took the dust cover off yesterday just to find the hanger door panels had warped. It looks as the glue I used has reacted with the plastic/ sail cloths.

So remade the door all in brass strip and used a different glue.

The new photos of the Type 26 just show the ship covered in scaffolding and sheeted in, so not any good for model making.
