Quick Update Gents,

After hours on the net I’ve found some actual build, fitting out photos/info on the Type 26s, so I’m going to start correcting parts of the superstructure I’ve built that was based on early pre production info which has been found to be incorrect.

Two steps forward one step back  <:(

The photos attached is one of the A/C ducting and fire drencher which is fitted in the hanger.

With the weather looking warmer this week, I’m going to try and see if I paint the hull.

Also correct some of the hanger fittings I messed up.  {:-{

Had some good weather so took the chance to paint the hull.

I’ve still got to paint the transom which I’ll do once I’ve got the info as to size , shape of the stern trim tab.

Hi Chris
Thanks

The model size is 61 1/2 inches Beam 9 inches. Very similar to the Arliegh Burke.

The Type 26 has a massive helicopter flight deck and with the mission bay the model has a lot of potential for detailing and working items.

I’ve attached just one of the configuration options.

That is an impressive hangar capacity as the Merlin is no Wasp! It looks like there is sufficient room to work on one without banging elbows etc!

As apart of the wiring, I needed to mark out the helicopter tie downs, harpoon grid and deck landing lights locations

There is more wiring to be added to the looms,  once I’ve confirmed the deck landing light type and locations.

Finished off the helicopter tie downs, also cast the bollards from an existing mould.

As for the fairleads I made a new master and moulded, as there is only two for closed fairleads visible on the Type 26 . I've not shown how I made the master closed Fairleads as this method was covered in USS Roosevelt thread.

Hi All,

After a lot of trawling the web for info on the T 26, I’ve found that AGI have got the contract for installing the Visual Helio landing Aid.

The issue I have now is how to install the lighting on my model.

Photo attached is from AGI publication.

Hi Gent

Update but slow and Little progress. Now I've painted the flight deck I can start work on the deck lighting and the best way for the removable section lights can be done.
