Hi Bob,

I’ve not seen any pic as yet. I’m hoping she will be coming out of dry dock soon.

Thank Andyn.

Thought people may be getting board with this thread as there has been little movement and it’s slow.

Thanks Gents, for the feed back. I’ll be a bit quiet as the wife and I have contracted covid 19 and felling crap. I think we got it when we picked up family from Gatwick last week.

Hi All,

Still awaiting new pics of HMS Glasgow coming out of fitting out dry dock & HMS Cardiff moving to the fitting out dry dock. When this happens I’m hope there will be a lot more pics.

So I’m turning to building the mission bay bridge crane which RR are supplying. My build is going to be based on the attached photo.

Thanks for the diagram David! I reckon that if going for a working light system for the bad weather landing system then six small coloured LEDs in a styrene mounting shape could work. If the mount is let into the body of the hangar (and therefore thicker) this might give you room for connectors and even resistors perhaps in one unit keeping it tidy?

Lots of lovely work going on matey! Keep it up, the Navy seem to be putting out some useful refs now!!

Started on the Mission Bay handling system crane, still a bit of clean up required.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for your ideas, they are as always very useful and give another line of thinking. Yes the T26 photos are starting to come out.

last weekend I had a model show at a local steam rally which I took my T26. It alway amaze me who we get to visit the stands, I had a gent that visited the SCM stand and asked me about the T26, then he told me he was apart of the T26 & Aussie Hunter class, design team working on the mission bay and the main mast. But could not tell me to much 🙁

Worked out how to get the crane to work and how to fix it in the Mission bay. However the rubber band slips to much, so I’ve ordered some thin V drive belts. But they coming from US so I’ll have to wait.

I’ll going to use a servo motor linked to a servo morph for control. [/size]

At last HMS Cardiff has move to the barge, later it will be floated off to then be dry docked. Photos they have issued are most helpful, I can get a bit more done.

Hi all ,

After weeks of testing and remodelling I’ve finally got a working mission bay crane. The crane work's on the bench, however now I’ve got to get it working in the model. The thought at this time is to modify a servo and link it to a servo morph so I can limit the speed and travel.

The crane can be removed very easily for any mods, repairs, maintenance or any other reasons.

HMS Cardiff passing RMS Queen Mary II in Greenock on her way up the Clyde. You can get an idea of the size of the T 26.

Gents,

I’ve started back on this project, however after studying the new photos and videos of HMS Cardiff and HMS Glasgow, it’s has shown quite a few of parts made to date are incorrect. But only one item is a major change and that is the bow brake water was made way too high.  So I’m having to remove it and make a new one, which will also require the foredeck to be repainted. Im  going to have to correct all the other minor parts before continuing.

However the flight deck tie downs, grill and bollards do not require any changes.

New Brake water made you can see the size difference , just awaiting other parts that I need to change then I’ll do a batch paint and refit.
