Sorry to hear about your accident Dave I wish you a speedy recovery though with the need for an opp I guess it won't be that quick, so take it easy mate.

Hi Chris,

Had my op last Saturday and recovery is expected to take min six weeks. I’m only now able to walk a short distance with crutches.

I’ve not been able to access my workshop to do any sort of modelling. Very frustrating and bored at this time.

Still hoping to be able to travel to Disney.

Rest up Dave, and you could always use the time to plan the next project.
Always difficult as after my heart attack 2 years ago I was banned from the  workshop for 2 months, Haha I learned the art of plastic kits on the kitchen table.....OK a few problems with the good lady, but then I got my granddaughter involved and all was well.......well apart from a few paint marks..... Gents Hi,I asked today if my wife could take some photos of my Type 26 hull as supplied by John at Scalewarships. It was then put back in to the workshop and locked away (and She has the Key)until my knee is fixed.

I'm pleased to hear that you had your op David. I wish you a speedy return to the modelling cave and some fun. Obviously I hope the trip to Disneyland will go ahead and your Grandchildren will have the time of their lives.

Hi Gents,

I’m back, my knee I’ve been told will take 6 to 9 months of physio rehab to get back to full use, but can get back to working in the workshop know, but can’t drive for another 4 weeks.

So today I start on making HMS Belfast stand, this will keep the hull level and square, which will allow me to trim the sides down. The base still requires trim to size and a protect water proof coating.
I’ve also ordered a couple o meters of 12mm brass tube and 12mm bronze round bar so I’ll have all the material to make the prop shaft , “A” bearing and frames. As for the shafts I have stock of 4,5,&8 mm 316 SS rod.
Once I’ve confirmed the size I’ll use which SS rod is the best.

Started on the running gear and under water details. But as there are no drawings available I’ve use photos to try and get the info I require.

Anyway the photos are of the beginning of making the master fitting of the rudder which will be used to take a mould from, the master is made from laminating three 2mm plaster card the sanded to shape.

Hi All,

Had to replace my lathe last week as the old one brunt out it speed control box, so went shopping at Axminster tools and got a new one at 20% off.

So to day I’ve started on the prop shafts and completed the stern tubes and plan to do the rest over the next few days.

It’s been a bit hot in the workshop, so I’ve been studying my photo library so I started on the “A” frame legs location, stern tube and rudders locations.

Need to give it a few days to recheck my assumption, before I make the cuts, as they say measure twice cut once in this case check, check, check and then check  O0

Update on my build so far,
I’ve started to frame the inside of the hull and installing the flight deck and an access. I’ve also being given some of ScaleWarship 3D printed prop type of stern mooring pods. I’ll fit them but may not use them on the final model.
