This week I cast off from the new Phalanx’s mould and the old 30mm gun mould.

Once they have been painted up I’ll post a pic.

Its surprising how the steps forward and backwards are just as common for ships that were built over the last 150 years as for a ship the navy are still having built! The pages of this fine forum are filled with examples of differences and alterations made because references turned out to be odd or different.

You have done a lovely job on the various mechanisms David. The mission bay system especially deserves mention!

Hi Ian,

Thanks for your positive reply, I never built a model so far ahead of the real prototype. Yes the reworking items is a pain but still fun collating info.

I’m hoping that the BAE Builders will be doing sea trials during the fourth quarter of this year so more pics.🙏

Hi Chris,

Re the helicopter tracking in/out I’ve not done one as yet, I’m still adjusting the cables. I’ve also been doing some 1/48 scale kits just as a fill in whilst info comes out on the 26.

All the best to you and Jen.

Hi All,

Been working on the removable side guards, using T45 data. Also in the process of doing corrections on doors and signal walkway platform.

I’ll post pics when done.

Thanks Ian,

All
I’ve got to the stage were until the actual T26 starts sea trails hopefully forth quarter this year. I’m going to put this build on hold as I’m finding so many changes in the base design of my model, which I will have to make several major modifications to the build. It’s just not enjoyable or good to keep taking large section of the model apart and rebuild, so I’m going await until the actual ship is at sea or in service.
