Material needed to repair wooden hull
« on: April 02, 2023, 01:50:04 pm »

Hi, I have a hole the size of 5p in the hull below the waterline. It’s a wooden hulled boat, so what would be the best material to repair the damage and seal the hole. Thanks

Is this a painted hull?

If so, I’d say a patch of glassfibre on the inside of the hull, with filler on the outside to bring it back to the form of the hull :-))

Yes it is, but I can always remove it around the damaged area and repaint later.

Excellent, makes life easier. If it were a bare finish planked hull things would be a little more difficult  %)
