Hope he is not disappointed anyway!! Flat bottomed might have just been the thing needed!!

As to having boats upside down, I find that a vee is more than able to be inverted with just that slightest of touches of "just a bit more throttle through here".....

Just me being ham fisted though - again.

Hi Guys

Bad news.  :'( Zippkits say they no longer do the V Box. They say they still do the Easy Vee which they recommend.

Got your email Mart, thanks a lot , plans look good.  I will print them off and have a look, pics look excellent.  i think i will have a go at making this boat whilst looking around for a second boat. Just out of curiosity do you or any of the guys know where you can get plans for the V Box or does any other company sell it.

much appreciate all the help

Hi Mart

Sorry to be a pest.  I have downloaded the plans. Just out of curiosity I printed of the inner transom, just want to make sure the printer has gave me the right size. I measured it at 13" accross 3/4" side and 3 1/2" from top to bottom, centre line. Is this right cos it looks small to me  :-\

sorry to annoy you

your not annoying me lol im not sure on the exact height of the transome mate as i enlarged mine, mine measures 5 3/4" as i raised the sides from the highest part of them and ran it that height right to the transom.it gave me more freeboard .the orriginal is low at the transom and sits low in the water however she runs great.to be honest id buy that easy vee as by the time you buy your wood etc it will cost more than the easy vee.you can allways build this one later if you like and raise the sides and transom like i did.by the way sounds right width wise so must be right  also the hull gets higher near the engine bay area and wider too so dont worry it is big enough  O0.

good choice mate gladd i could help, have you decided on setup yet? id advise surface drive!!.Use a simple strut setup with an offset rudder with 2 water piccups if you can ,if it comes with one then buy a piccup that you can bolt on the back of the transom that way you have water running from one to your water jacket then out of the boat.the second one cools the manifold and pipe in that order then over the side.you will need a flex hex coupler for your motor to join to the flex,a brass stuffing tube,1/4", drive dog and a prop and prop nut.email dave marles at prestwich and he will give you a quote for all the above hes a very helpfull guy.or try the links i gave you for some things if you think they are cheaper but i advise def getting the ready welded flex shafts that he has as you dont need to solder a ferrule on  ;).you will also need a tuned pipe for your motor.

Hi Guys

I think I have made a mistake regarding the Zenoah 260 pum. Does it need a clutch and a water pump ?  The engine came on it's own.  I dont know if it needs a clutch and water pump.  hope you guys can put me on the right track

Hi there Snoopy,

there are other options on hardware available, Prestwich among others do quality components and you can call for advice and speak to person if help in set up is needed.

Again, when it comes to pipes the Prestwich range take some beating, there are lots of American ones around, some are very noisy, and need additional stinger silencers not to be too anti social.

Wet pipe apparently do not give the same performance as dry ones. If you are hell bent on a wet pipe pm me as I might just have one for sale. Not sure I like the idea of water being in close proximity to the internals of an engine. That said, my motor has been full of water many times and so far survived well. (It is a Zenoah PUM260)

cant disagree with glen dave is a great guy to deal with as i said before, that hong kong place is also good for cheap bargains and it is decent gear most of it is octura or similar quality.the ali props are great too, very lite sharp and polished and pretty well balanced too and hold up just fine  O0.at 6 quid they are less than 1/3 the price of a ss one so well worth it.id go for a water cooled pipe with water cooled manifold rather than a wet pipe.mines a hanson pipe and as glen says they can be noisy but mine has a silencer in fact i got it off glen.

Totally agree with finding bargins from Hong Kong via Ebay.  O0
Please be warned that buying from our friends  state side U.S.A. you do have to accept that you could have extra costs on postage/shipping via our not so friends at CUSTOMS.  :police: :police: :police:
At the moment they seem to pick on items comming from the states and slap on IMPORT DUTY.  :'(  >>:-(
I have not had this problem with items via Hong Kong etc and the prices are in U.S. Dollars.

But of course, the ones from Hong Kong were probably gifts. I know mine were. If it's declared as a gift (on the Customs Declaration form), it should be non-taxable - even from the U.S.
