Maybe some more of the 1500 photos that I took  :D
The party is famous for the tug ballet. If you look carefully, you may spot two humans dancing on the aft deck of Fairplay-31 ;-)

Hi Hande,

Thanks for sharing these superb pics. I'm particularly drawn to the Holland.
Interested to know what camera/lenses you used.

Cheers,
Phil

Thanks, Phil!

I brought my old Nikon D90 to Hamburg. The lens is Sigma 17-70 C. Autofocus with this combination was not perfect and I had to bin 20% of all pics right away. I only had this one lens and I could have used a longer lens at times. I covered the final regatta with just a phone, but as an overall picture and a little of video it was alright, too. In fact, I got so close to SAR Hermann Marwede that my phone pics (not the one I posted) are just fine!

These pictures underwent an accentuation edit in Adobe Lightroom. It does wonders even if the photos themselves are compromised in a way or another...

I had never been onboard a tug before - so it was a thrill for me to get on a harbour cruise on both Holland and Elbe (former Greenpeace). The Holland cruise was 3 hours with a buffet and bar. Both of these veterans are no tugs anymore, but the feeling is there at least fo me

Thanks for the reply Hande.

The clarity of the images is very nice, with a full frame sensor feel. I've not tried any sigma lenses to date but I will seeing your shots. I recently got my hands on a 5D mkIII which I need to get going with now that the ZZ build is winding down.

Cheers,
Phil

Thank you for sharing, great pictures. This event has recently gone onto my 'todo' list but the dates didn't work out for this year for me. Next year hopefully as it looks like a really interesting event.

The Hamburg event looks great.

Rotterdam also have a port weekend which is a truly great event. I recommend it unreservedly.

Great photos. Elbe looks superb, a credit to all who worked on her restoration and to those who keep her looking so good.
