Joysway Orion v2
« on: July 12, 2023, 03:04:17 pm »

Volantex customer service must have been made redundant, so reply, no nothing.

Might anyone on here have a

Joysway Orion v2 RTR 2.4 GHz model yacht please ?

Is it any good, water tight and what's its depth of water needed to float please.

How do you find spare parts availability, good or terrable ?

Thanks in advance...

Seems volantex and joysway RC yachts are not popular ?

No feedback from either companies customer service, which is not a good sign.

Both companies websites give minimum info and pictures of the models mentioned.

I wonder what feedback Cornwall model boats will provide ?

Thanks for some feedback Terry.
Please may I ask what is the length of the keel please and depth of water needed for the model to float ?

During my research depth of water needed to float was not mentioned at all !
Since these are model boats I would think that that bit of data was needed. " Do I need waders" being and important consideration never mind concerns for the model.

Still no reply from joysway, volantex or Cornwall model shop, twt yet !

Anyway I found out some info and went with a volantex Compass from wheelspin models as they  stock spares for this model.

I didn't like the deck sealing arrangement for the joysway boat, sealing tape.
The volantex Compass has a rubber ring sealing arrangement which I will add sealing tape to, belt and braces. When fully assembled and sailed I will make a thread on it.

Wheelspin models have been great and even stock MT d1000 diesel fuel. Nice one wheelspin, a great bunch of guys.

The depth of keel to hull is 32mm so depth of water needs to be 36mm at least
My Phantom is for sale at £90 Ono sailed twice just need radio and battery
Trying to reduce my fleet and my hanger full of aircraft of which I alway fly the same 2 or 3 planes
Regards. Terry
