Ripmax In Administration - A Sad Day
« on: July 20, 2023, 01:39:33 pm »

Sadly reflecting the decline in the hobbies that make up modelling Ripmax has applied for Administration. This isn't necessarily the end but the omens are not good unless a buyer can be found.

Indeed a sad day. The pressures we have all seen and oft lamented or embraced depending on viewpoint is affecting all creative hobbies to an extent. I hope the receivers are sensible enough to balance a quick profit with some charity towards the hobbies RipMax supported.

This is very sad and I hope they find a solution. I have scoured the internet for an Amps Rapier car for years and have never found a decent one. It’s a real shame that they stopped making them

Yea I know - Its just one of those of things that I really would like.......I'd happily pay what ever for one of those especially if I could get a Piccolo 21 engine too.  The first real 10th scale race car with independent suspension and wow how they went around a track.

The notice on the subject of "Prohibited names" is a hopeful sign.

Why? As far as I can see it is a standard part of the Administration notice.

Very sad, I remember when they opened in Park Way Camden Town, straight after Saturday morning pictures I would head across the road and up Parkway to Ripmax.  In the early days I was friendly with the staff, John, I remember and took my model boats to show a couple of times.  I did spend my pocket money in there as well, they also used to sell Meccano spares etc.

Further up the road was a stamp shop and as I received parcels from Oz I used to sell the high value stamps in there and then go back and spend the money in Ripmax.

Regards
Roy

Look out for the Amerang name marketing the old Ripmax line of product going forward.
