Help identifying?
« on: August 05, 2023, 10:24:59 am »

Bought a scale warship as a project, the ship sits too low at rear and too high at front so I need to add some ballast up the front. There is a tank at the front with a sealed cap (o-ring) is this a ballast tank of some description. Would water be used here to add weight to the front?

They look like standard soil pipe end caps, you should be able to twist them off.
.... if they are a bit tight, you may have to make some tools to fit the 'troughs'.

Needs two 'pins', one to fit the hole and the other to locate in a slot at approx 180 deg. from hole. Bit of wood with a couple of nails.

Hi Martin cap comes off fine it was more the intention of the tank. Wasn’t sure if it was meant to have water in it.

Have been used in the past as a waterproof housing for radio gear.
