Over the summer I built a couple of ‘Noodle Tugs’ for the grandkids.
The inspiration was an article in the February 2018 issue of Model Boat magazine.
I substituted twin props rather than single prop plus rudder, and 3d printed the inner ‘box’ to contain the motors/electrics. Otherwise pretty much followed the build in the magazine.
The flat bow is deliberate – it means the tug can push things – including the other tug if necessary. It does however make it rather non-streamlined. I think they go slightly faster astern!
Anyway duly delivered, and 2 v engaged grandkids sailing them.. there was an idea to add the bridge windows together – but we just got too busy on the water so the bridge stayed plain for now!
