My question is Has anyone built a cockpit for a yacht, I’m at that stage, and could do with some help, and some ideas
Please, I have used cardboard put together with hot wax gun, made some shapes but they don’t sit well,

Hi, well at last I have been able to reduce my photos, so here is the cockpit area on my boat, last jobs to be done, plank the last hatch, seal the cockpit planks, and hatches with black humbral paint to match the deck, and make this windshield which is what I was asking help for ?

This is the method I used for a couple of powerboats. 1. Make template with card. 2. Cut out in 0.5mm ali using piercing saw. This is bent to fit cockpit. 3. Cut out piece of thin clear plasticard and piece of thin white plasticard slightly oversize and form sandwich ali/clear/white clamped together. 4.Check the fit etc. then run a "smidgeon" of superglue round outside edge. Trim edge.

Or do you mean a sprayhood?  You could follow full size practice, bend a frame out of thin brass rod and glue a cover over that in separate pieces.  There are loads of companies on the interweb who supply sprayhoods so there are lots of photos you can use.

Nice looking model by the way!

To SailorGreg
I have just finished reading your J class build, what a beautiful yacht and I enjoyed your build photos and instructions, I will post some of my yacht I am building, it’s Scratch built to my drawings, which I lofted to produce the hull, it’s loosely based on a VO 60 racing yacht, you will note the hatches are all screwed down onto a thin rubber membrane, they are not pretty to look at but are functional, I must add I have not been in a hurry to build her as I started in 2014 , she has been modified extensively to get where we are today, and I only work on her in the winter tucked up in my warm garage
