Wooden boat builder wanted
« on: October 24, 2023, 04:31:06 pm »

Via email to Mayhem ....

Good morning, Martin.

Do you know any wooden-model historic ship enthusiasts / hobbyists groups on the South Coast?

I have a few wooden models of historic ships that my late father was working on, in various states of completion. As a former Royal Navy engineer, he enjoyed researching and applying detail. So the models have had a lot of care and attention during their build.

Now he’s passed on, we’re keen to offer them to anyone with similar interests who would like to display them or pick-up where he left off?

This isn’t a money thing. We’re just keen to see the models go somewhere they’ll be appreciated.

Would really appreciate any guidance you can offer, Martin.

Hi Martin,

Ref this posting about wooden models, I’ve got South Coast Modellers Event Saturday and we have a couple members that do wood models, so I’ll ask if any one can help.

Could you advise what types of models they are ie ships of the line ? Type
