Hello !
I know that we already spoke of this once but I cannot find the right post and I don't remember...
What is the elbow from the steam inlet valve going directly (or coming from...) the  exhaust box for ??
if someone can refresh my memory ? It looks like a bleed off pressure , but why ??

Actually I modified the original one with the eccentric slip which was not reliable by a Maudlays working perfectly.

Can you please post a better pic of the cylinder head showing steam inlet to steam chest and the exhaust out put from the back and a pic showing the cylinder heads from above.

Do the cylinders have independent exhausts?

Hello !
When I opened to set the timing gears, both exhaust enter in the same box .
This exhaust box is open toward atmosphere on one side (exhaust) and the other side is linked to the distribution valve (?) .
Now ! I do not remember how was this valve = 2 or 3 ports ? I do not think that there is 4 ports as the reverse works with the Maudslay. But no guarantee !
i am afraid to open it up again as it is a real trick to set the timing properly and I do not not know if the factor "luck" works at each time !
