And two Targets (Skimmers) having to be tied up due to lack of crews? Makes a mockery of the last night of the Proms.

Naval bosses deny that mothballing two assault ships will be 'the beginning of the end for the Royal Marines' saying
they will just allow the elite troops to work from home.

They are on strict instructions to toe the Government line. Some of the top brass have recently been told to stop issuing statements and leave it to ministers.

There is a big cover up going on.

Understanding the great pressure Western Nations are having not only attracting Recruits, but maintaining Service Personal numbers

Australia is in the same predicament, especially with RAN numbers. Our Officer numbers have increased year by year, but it is the Enlisted Ratings numbers from CPO down through the Ranks to 1st Year Sailors being the area of greater % loss compared to the increased number of Officers

We have at least one Collins Class submarine that whilst is in service, however cannot put to sea because some of her Crew have been transferred to allow another Collins Class vessel to make up the required compliment of Crew for it put to sea

Where did the Rating of Vice Admiral appear in the position vacant advertisement?, as the body of the text suggests the appointment is for a Rear Admiral
Having said all of this, I suggest that the reported advertisement for a Vice Admiral is a hoax, as the Job Description is for an alternate Classification of a replacement Rear Admiral.....so, is it the Media  >>:-(  who couldn't get 2 lines of text to compliment or stay in tune with each other

In real life, it is the other way around.......we have a senior Retired Naval Officer, who before retirement was on a recommendation committee for a substantial Naval Contract to build new warships ....after the successful Tenderer was announced, within a very short period of time, that then retired Naval Officer was engaged by the ship builder as a Paint Consultant  O0 for the new vessel project

Is A Rear Admiral Higher Than A Vice Admiral? [RN]
The position of Vice Admiral is higher than a Rear Admiral Lower Half, or the next step up in Flag Officer rank, Rear Admiral (referred to by some as Rear Admiral Upper Half). Vice Admirals are often deputy commanders for regional commands such as Navy Region Northwest or Navy Region Mid-Atlantic. The Vice Admiral position is equivalent to a three-star General
