scale 1/30 Police river boat
« on: January 17, 2024, 08:20:31 pm »

any body seen a police boat like this one ? I got it from howes model and it's wood ,built ok but I'd like to know its history assuming that there is any history,  it would look better with a name and what river it worked on . It seems a lot bigger than the usual river police boats so I'm wondering if it could have been abroad in one of out far flung empire like Hong kong . I would be very chuffed if some one has the answer. Cheers Shipmates from Phil

HI
I'm pretty sure that it's a Robbe wasserschutzpolizei w3 that has been painted and renamed

It does look rather like the Robbe W3 - I have one and it is frequently on the water in Oxford. I also have an unbuilt kit which I intend to build to replace the current one as it is getting a bit 'used'. It is a fun model to sail with a couple of small brushless motors running on 7.2v.

The Robbe kit is almost entirely ABS or similar, so as yours is made of wood, it might be a scratch built copy.
