Atlantic 85
« on: June 10, 2024, 11:21:03 am »

Hello All,
Some while ago I read somewhere that there was to be produced an Atlantic 75/85 kit or semi kit, there was also talk of a D class, all at 12th scale.
Did these projects ever materialise or are they still on the drawing board?
While I'm here, I understood that the Lesro Atlantic 21 was to be produced again, any news on that?
And to finish, would anyone have any spare outboard motor vac forms for the Lesro Atlantic 21 kit please, I would be interested to purchase them if so.
Thank you and kind regards

Drydock3d are working on the Atlantic 85, I'm working on the D-Class IB1, although this may actually end up being sold by drydock3d.

The Atlantic is being shown in prototype form at Blackpool, I'm expecting the D-Class to be available in 2025

well, yes and yes...........

The 85 was being developed by Adam  of mountfleet models and was almost ready in 2022 when I was talking to him at the Blackpool show about the D Type that I had made the vack form tooling for earlier that year.

To which he bought the tooling off me as well as some of the fittings that I had made in order to produce that at a later date.

As for  moulds for the outboards for the Atlantic 21, I made a mould to produce one on the permission of the original owner of the Lesro 21 kit as I wrote to him asking for a replacement on a boat I bought that only had one motor. He told me that as the kit was no longer in production I would be under no obligation about his copyright and to go ahead........that was 20+ years ago., and I still have the mould should I ever need another motor.

But the motor parts are cast in polyurethane resin from the moulds I made

Apologize for jumping in with a question, but I'm planning to build a D-Class in 1/20, mainly 3D printed parts (I hope) from sketches and photos only. Can anyone tell me the original radius or diameter of the D-Class tubes?Regards, Joerg
