Artificial Intelegence
« on: February 20, 2024, 09:45:02 am »

Not quite an AI scam, but I wonder... %)

I am using my android mobile phone's electronic assistant as a wake up call service as follows

1. At maybe 9:30 PM, I press the phone's electronic assistant & say "wake-up call"
2. the AI voice says "OK, what time"?
3. I say "6:30 AM tomorrow"
4. the AI voice says "your alarm is set from 6:30 AM tomorrow"

So here is my quandary...if the AI system can understand a time and date, or time and a word ie., tomorrow, what else can the AI accept or understand in this process?

After the AI voice confirms "you got it, your alarm is set from 6:30 AM tomorrow"

I don't want appear to be rude, so say "thankyou".........but she never responds

Am I reading too much into this AI service on my phone?  {-)

Well, it's not AI it's just a 'question-answer-do software' ...  one function less, 0.1penny less cost...

Derek,

You could upgrade to a wind up device with numerals on the front, bells on top and a couple of keys on the back.

It features an engineering breakthrough in that it never needs a battery or external power source. Whatever will they think of next?

I've got one of those, very handy indeed, but I've found they don't ring loud enough to wake me up as I don't sleep with my hearing aids in place..............

Talking with my younger Brother about this AI question, and Sister in Law introduced me to 'Hey Google'.......an AI system marketed by Telstra......she knows everything and answers in endless sentences to any question asked....apparently with the knowledge that Google has in its memory bank O0

The AI 'She' is very polite, sounds like a very intelligent member of the fair sex  although appears to have been programmed never to argue >>:-(
