How much??????????
« on: November 10, 2007, 05:35:16 pm »

I'm after 2 x Ship’s 16' Lifeboat Double Ended 148mm long x 54mm width 1:32

I found a 1:48 Scale 24ft Clinker Ship’s Lifeboat Double Ended 150mm Quaycraft do them at £12+

1 Does anyone know of a cheaper equivalent

2 Is the Quaycraft one worth the £12 seems a lot too me.

hi ya there Tom,

Yes Quaycraft, extremely expensive, but well, well worth it.  The quality of moulding is extremely high.

I have used product from this Company before when I was building HMS Ajax, see my pictures below and these are at 1/96 scale and I think I paid about £7 a boat then, and that was a few year ago.   My personal opinion is, no other Company can touch their products for quality.

i have a few of his boat, and have to agree with john there are top quality. As for price there not to bad when you think of the labour plus materials gone in to them. Consider how much a billing or graunper life boat are ,his ant that much more but you do get a hell of a lot more detail. john

Looks like I going to have to bite the bullet and have two and modify them.

He makes very good boats , but unless he has changed the material me makes them out of they are very brittle , I spent a lot of time finishing one of then drooped it, it was like glass. ordered another the next day.
