Dremel Clone Rotary Tool
« on: April 29, 2024, 08:14:31 pm »

Spotted this (and purchased one!) in Robert Dyas today, a 'Dremel Clone', down from £39.99 to £19.99, also available on their website under the 'Special Offers' tab, for delivery or click and collect.

First use of multi-function Rotary Tool today, it's a 'made in China' Dremel clone. Mains power, on/off rocker switch, RPM controlled by a thumbwheel with a 1-6 scale. It has a nice feel and 'heft' to it, and comes in a conveniently sized plastic carrying case. Have only used it for drilling so far, but also comes with accessories for grinding, sanding, and polishing.

Definitely worth the twenty quid.

Is there a Dyas in Northampton as my poor Dremel after 40 years is not as it should be....and Mayhem is a perfect time to re stock.

Hi Phil,

The 'Law of Sod' comes into play here, Northampton seems to be the only large town which doesn't have a branch of Robert Dyas, the nearest ones, (but not that near) are Banbury and Leamington Spa.

Phil.
Laws of Sod.
If it is on special (sounds like it might be clearance), it can easily sell out before Mayhem weekend.
Could you buy online and ship to Martin, or can someone volunteer to buy you one and take to Mayhem for you?

Lidl did an identical clone about 10 years ago. My wife bought me one, it's been used and abused heavily over that time and it's still excellent. I'd recommend it.
