We took coal to Montevideo around 1959 and made friends with a group of people ashore. They invited us to their home for a meal the following day where we were introduced to their parents. It turned out the father was a cook from the Graf Spee who had settled there.I remember it was an odd feeling talking to someone linked to a piece of history so well known.
