SANDY BANK - clyde puffer help please
« on: September 30, 2024, 08:05:04 pm »

My first r/c electric boat from plans in model boat magazine  Need some help, please .    450mm long and 140mm beam  Propshaft is 5 inches long with a 1 inch diameter prop.

The build notes say nothing about motor size,  batteries, servo, etc,  and I am totally lost.

Can anyone can recommend a model shop or a supplier who would be able to help ?

Thanks

thats the 18" possibly similar in size to the old Caldercraft model. She sails very well and scale speed on a small 385 motor, but if you wanted to go a little larger with a bit more power, a 585 motor would be plenty........you dont want anything larger.

Mine sailed well on both those many years ago,  :-))

Many thanks to you
Found it at Howes who said they are more than willing to help on questions and will sort the other items needed.
Most helpful of you Neil.
