Korts home made
« on: November 12, 2024, 09:24:27 am »

I am trying to make as much as I can for the next boat without buying to much

I have now completed a pair of 55 mm korts

I had a 55 mm inner dia pipe and then pushed car body filler over the outside to get the shape and added a few strips of wood for fins and anodes .

A friend made a rubber mould of it for me and cast them in pu resin.
The stock is a 4 inch nail with one end cut off
So there long or short shafts suite any boat .
Hopefully anyway…..

Now sorting out the inside bit the makes the stock waterproof when placed through the hull.
But like a base and stern tube all in one

Hope you used a Brass or Stainless steel nail?

Nope just a metal one. But it will be inside a greased stock when I make them..

I can’t say as rust would be the worst of my problems. I hope
