  • Model Boat Mayhem is Great!
Another Newbie!
« on: January 07, 2025, 05:25:36 pm »

Hi all
Thanks for the login, Martin!  I have been reading a number of posts recently, and finally decided to join in.
I have made many models in my time, including a few boats, which is where my main passion lies.  I have not built anything for a while, until recently, when I decided build an Aquarama from scratch. I downloaded a pdf of some plans at 1/10 scale, and then proceeded to 3d model them at 60%: mistake! Its now at a scale of 1/16.6 which is proving a pain: there are fittings available at 1/15 which will probably do, but I'm struggling to find a full set.  I have tried to add some jpegs, but I haven't got the hang of it yet!  Will let you see them as soona as I have worked out how.
Cheers for now
Tom

Welcome Tom

And great that you're building an Aquarama..!

I decided to go the other way in scale. I built the 1/10 scale from the Amati Kit, and am now mid way through a 1/5 based on the same plans. Build logs links are in my signature below.

Best regards
David.

Look forward to seeing the pics when you get them uploaded, there are a few tutorials on the forum about image hosting and uploading. Maybe Martin can point you in right direction.
