MODEL BOAT MAYHEM 2025,
Saturday, May 24 & Sunday, May 25.

This year's event, will be bigger and better!

Hosted by the great  Wicksteed Model Boat Club,
at their Home port of Wicksteed Park, Kettering. - Barton Rd, Kettering NN15 6NJ - ///movies.when.healers

Camping is available on site, booked through the Park website.
https://wicksteedpark.org/your-visit/camping-at-wicksteed-park/

Ample room around the lake to pitch gazebos and tables!
This is a free event to access!
( the only payment is for the car parking )
Parking should be no more than 200yds away, trollies and help available both days!
https://wicksteedpark.org/your-visit/car-park-prices/

The only restriction is that no IC boats are allowed to run, BUT Andy and his intrepid crew will demo IC boats on both days.

The show will encompass all aspects of RC boats.
The whole event is a free sail, so come along with as many ships, yachts, submarines, hovercraft and anything else that you can think of and have a sail!

There are plenty of on site catering stops, plus Mayhem have tea and coffee with biccies lakeside for a small donation.

There will be events at the show, including club 500 carnage, 686 tugs,
but the main theme this year is the 80TH anniversary of the end of WWII. VE and VJ days!

Please note, this event normally comes with wind, rain, sun.
So far no snow, but the lowest temperature has been -7 degrees!

I am now building a row boat to come over, and I have been busy having built a couple of little vintage model boat company boats (that I got at the model boat show in 2016 ) well you can't rush this things, and they are not steam......oohhhh but I tried this modern stuff.....brushless motors, lipo batteries.......watch the bank chaps because I think thats where they will be......
So ready, and maybe waders that don't leak this year....... :-))

I suspect Phil only needs to wade out waist high and either Border Force or the RNLI will arrive to rush him safely home to Blighty !

In addition to banishing the great Northamptonshire Vertical Mist (trademark Ron Dean of Dean’s Marine!) we have been given a camping offer from the park.

Essentially it’s buy one night, get the next night free. To use this offer please book through the Wicksteed Park Camping Booking site for the first night. You will need to message me via the forum private message service with the following information:

Your name
Your camping booking reference number
Your Car/vehicle registration number

I will pass on the information to the relevant park department and they will extend your stay by the relevant amount of day(s).

So if you want to stay Friday and Saturday nights, book the Friday night only and they will extend you to Saturday night free of charge. This means that you will still see all weekend as you won’t need to vacate the park until closing time Sunday evening as your vehicle will have movement in the park. You will just need to move out of the campsite into the Mayhem Parking area, if you need to stay in the campsite (for example you have a caravan) let me know and I can arrange it for you.

Any questions please let me know  :-))

I wanted to call in this year and spend a few hours one day, if I came in on motorbike is there anywhere that I can park that’s close to the water so to speak, would want to leave on a car park anywhere…

Thanks
