Hi all,
Thank you for letting me join your forum. I live in Weymouth, Dorset.
Having been on the water, both sail and power for 50+ years we have given up as age has brought us to the point where the pain outweighs the pleasure.
So looking for another hobby I decided to have a go at learning to build model boats.
My first kit arrived two weeks ago and is a Billings FD10 yawl.
I have made a start and glued in the bulkheads as straight as I can. Trying to fit in the thin pieces of notched ply which I think are called the bulwark caps I find that the notches don't quite line up. I have slightly tweaked the notches and they are now in place.

It's very early days and I realise that I will probably make a pig's ear of this first kit but its a learning experience.
I will look forward to learning from the rest of the mebers to improve my skills.

Paul, it will help other builders on here  to help you, if you can post photographs   of your build as you progress, as we gan then get a grasp of your model and progress should you need help in any way or part of your model.

there is a wealth of  help and experience on here if those watching can see where you need help visually.

good luck and enjoy your new hobby.  :-))
