Sound Units
« on: October 29, 2025, 02:50:47 pm »

Hi Good People

Not sure if I am posting this enquiry in the correct area so if not will some kind moderator please put it in the correct place. With winter coming along I am looking for projects to do to keep me occupied - so far none of my boats have any sound on them at all.

I am looking at a reasonably cheap method of putting a horn sound on my models - nothing to sophisticated just something that gives a repreated short blast - thinking of putting it on a momentary switch on the TX which will turn the unit on and off by an electric switch. Can find units that do engine sound but not anything that does a horn.

Is there anyone out there that can recommend a unit to do this please - dont want to be paying the earth as I have about 20 models I would like to do - also would prefer someone that is available in the UK as I find the chinese suppliers very unreliable and take forever to arrive.

Thanks in advance for your help

Cheers

That's all right, Mr Ryan. My Morse is so rusty, I could be sending him dimensions on Playmate of the Month.

Check out the Component Shop/Action electronics. Their horn does not appear to be in stock at the moment, but if you were to call. I have a couple of their units and I like the sounds.

Appreciate a bit left field , but suggest you check out the offerings from both M-Tronics and also Harbor Models.
