Smit Nederland bulwarks
« on: November 24, 2007, 01:48:00 pm »

The rebuild/restoration on my Nederland is going well, with much of the painting now done. The tug has a rubber strip (now removed while painting) around the top of the bulwarks, but it's a bit tatty.

Anyone know where I can get a suitable replacement in the UK, preferably rounded? What has anyone else used - I've used black rubber tube for fendering on my other tugs, but it would be a bit big for this task, I think.

Cheers

Hi
Sorry to go off topic straight away...
Can you give me the measurement  fore and aft for the waterline?  I'm searching for a plan but without any luck.

Cheers.

There is a Edging Strip for sale on E-Bay that might do it for you...I,ve used it on a few tugs & its OK...

Also if you run a modelling knife down a lenght of light plastic or rubber fuel pipe or Electric Cable you get a good bulwark capping from this method...
