Motor for Bangarth Tug
« on: November 27, 2007, 02:27:18 pm »

I have just got the Bangarth tug from Mountfleet.

Can anyone please suggest the most appropriate motor to go for?  It has a 65mm 4 blade prop.

Thanks for any advice.

I built Rosegarth a few years ago and used a car blower motor, if you get in touch with model motors direct he had some, or make for a breakers yard and get one there.

I am building the Cruiser (another from Mountfleet) which turns a similar sized prop.

I did have a large buhler fitted but I am replacing that with the Grapner speed 720BB, very powerful, very torquey.

There is a man in Blackpool who sells them for less than £24.00. P.M. to follow

Cheers

Hi Stavros,
The reason I suggested the Graupner is that SOMEONE from Wales apparently got hold of the last of Redbanks' stock of the Protech motors and at the moment replenishing stock of them is not easy for Gary.

Thinks....... now who can that man from Wales be....... ;D ;D ;D
