I just cant believe how fragmented this hobby is. Every model shop Ive been to only has half of the things I need, everybody I've spoken to so far has different opinions and ideas, and I cant even get the right connecting plugs and sockets, I've got to make my own.

Sunny Bob, you will very lucky to get ALL your required kit from one source. That's why the model boat shows are so well attended as traders tend to specialise in a particular niche in the market and its easy to visit each trader on the day armed with your shopping list.
Most model shops are geared for aircraft and cars with usually a few bits and bobs for boats. Before everyone else jumps down my throat, there are a few exceptions to this rule and some of these shops have internet sites and deal mail order very effectively.

Have a look at traders directory on here for a few pointers. They are on here by recommendation.  O0 I'm sure that they would be  willing to answer your queries about their products should you have any.

Often the internet is the only way as there is so much on the market that shops cannot stock everything.
As Faraday's Cage says look through the traders directory.  O0

looks like I'm disqualified for this, no shed!! :'( :'( :'( Dont suppose a garage full of motorcycles and bits and pieces that WILL come in handy one day is good enough. But yes, I'm old enough to remember metalwork with sharp tools. (I won the best hand filed spanner award one year) AND pump up parrafin blow lamps that shot flames 3 feet across the workshop!! Kids! they dont know theyre born. >>:-( >>:-( >>:-(

Yup, understand all of that, I'm no stranger to auto jumbles and motorcycle shows, but this charger thing has really rubbed me up the wrong way. To be able to sell a charger BUT NOT THE LEADS?????????????  To sell a charger for the motor battery but not one for the TX battery?????? Unless I want to spend a couple hundred pounds that is..

Sorry, rant over, I shall go and make myself a cup of cocoa with added vodka, that should do the trick :D :D :D
