There is a club that meets at the Rhyhope pumping station. Sorry I have no contact details. Have you tried your local library or googled?

sorry for late reply, I have just spotted this posting of yours.  The Ryhope model boating club in Sunderland used to meet on a Thursday night at the Ryhope Pumping Station Sunderland for a general model meeting - they used to sail on a Sunday afternoon between the hours of 12 noon and 4pm.    I think the member MCR on this Forum, and who is now a member of Saltwell Park, I am sure he used to be a member of Ryhope club.    He will possibly furnish you with further details.  I do have a telephone number for Ryhope Pumping station and they may have a contact number for someone in the Club - its: 0191 521 0235 or email:  ryhope.engines@virgin.net 

There is also a lake at Fulwell in Sunderland and I believe they have a modelling club but, where and when they meet I am not sure.
