How are the Mad Makara Day out plan going?

2772e · « **Reply #352 on:** May 21, 2008, 07:26:47 pm »

Hi Bill,

All gone quiet around here. They are all being rebuilt after the last couple of races. After all they are not that well built, know what i mean.

Damonshas been rebuilt and will be something to reckon with. Mine is ok, going to have a play on Friday as got the day off.

Are you going to Kingsbury?

Hi Simon
I am hoping to be at Kingsbury, but I have a sound job on Sat and it depends on what time I hit my bed Sat/Sun morn.
My radio box held up very well after turning it over at Stevenage. I had to straighten out the rudder. I must have hit something during the race which flipped me over.

I ended up with quite a few new dings in the boat after Stevenage, dont remember hitting anything.

One very nasty one on the port rear chine. right through to the matting

I have seen the Carp that have been netted out of the lake ready for the water level drop next week. They are 20/30 pound. If we hit one of them I think the boat would come of worse.

Bill D203 · « **Reply #356 on:** May 21, 2008, 07:53:13 pm »

I am thinking of putting my Endforcer up for sale. I'm not sure how much to ask for it. What do you think?

2772e · « **Reply #357 on:** May 21, 2008, 09:00:20 pm »

Why?

Could be interested, is it complete?

Bill D203 · « **Reply #358 on:** May 22, 2008, 09:37:59 am »

Hi Simon I am thinking of building one of John Smiths boats for next year. So I will have to make some room for it in my shed + some Duse to go towards it would be helpfull.
My endfrocer as you know has a repair in it where Dameon hit it + a few battle wounds. I need to refit the tuned pipe back. I took it out to see if it would fit into the Makara when i was having fun and games. It will take me an hour then it's ready to run. I should put it on my list to be done over the weekend. I will be selling it complet with all the radio gear. All you will need is a crystal and TX to run it.

Don't worry Bill they're all dead floating around the side of the lake now :)

Hi All
Just poped into the Mayhem show at Wicksteed park. Not bad? The Life boat boys are for me steeling the show. Lovely bits off kit.
How about setting up a show off Makara's next year?
Bill.

hi bill

did you get the cooling sorted on your makara ? hope you did not damage the new engine

tee

ps what your next race ?

Bill D203 · « **Reply #364 on:** June 06, 2008, 07:56:09 pm »

Hi Tony
I strip all the cooling circuit out and could not find any blocks in it? I have now put a second pick up point over the prop direct the the engine. The ex pipe & manifold cooling is of the old rudder pickup point. I hope to get down the lake on Sunday morn to test it out.
I may make it to Byn back. I have booked in but got a heavy day on Sat and may not be in a fit state. I will how ever be in Devise Wilts so 1/2 way there.

Dose any one Else fancy a run up to north Wales 30th/31st Aug to the Mayhem show.
I was hoping to get a few boats on show at Wicksteed next year, but it would seem we will have some water to run on at this show.
It would be nice to show of our boats.

2772e · « **Reply #370 on:** June 07, 2008, 05:19:48 pm »

And theres no racing that weekend, maybe worth a treck Bill?

Bill D203 · « **Reply #371 on:** June 07, 2008, 05:58:27 pm »

Are you there Phil? How do you fancy a trip to North Wales?
I am free that weekend but I am not flying the flag on my own. I think there is camping nearby. I will try and find out.

Blagmeister · « **Reply #372 on:** June 08, 2008, 12:04:26 am »

Yeah I would be up for that Bill. At present I don't have any work scheduled in for that weekend so unless I get a gig in the meantime, I am up for that.

Count me in.

Phil

Now I have had a look at all the pics, and I thought I was mad running high speed straight runners, but you lot need those special white coats and padded rooms. But what you really need to do is come to Llanberis and show us mere (sane) mortals
what it's all about
