Thunder Tiger Entz - fittings
« on: December 11, 2007, 01:01:32 am »

I've just finished off building my Entz, after years of Submarines and Surface powered models I fancied a change.

Anyhow, I've built the model and its very good, however, after looking on a few forums the general opinion is the deck fittings chain stays etc, need changing from the supplied plastic to either brass of Stainless Steel..

Anyone know of a good supplier??

www.sailsetc.com

Online catalogue  not bad.
Good service.
High quality, hence a bit pricey.

Guys
If you don't mind dealing with US based companies, here are a few web sites you may wish to review for some very nice hardward.
The first on my list is Midwest Model Yachting - Contact is Brian. I have purchased a number of items for my RC Sailboats from Brian and I can report the quality is excellent service is prompt and his prices are fair. http://www.midwestmodelyachting.com
Number two is Model Yacht Fittings contact is Roger (who is retired but still makes fittings) He winters in Florida returns to his home in the spring. Very nice man, good quality products. If you are in hurry, this might not be the best source for you. http://www.modelyachtfittings.com
The third is Pekabe/Worth Marine. They have some realy nice hardward, but they don't seem to be very responsive to inquires. They may be feeling the effects of the economy. http://www.worthmarine.com

This is source for deck lines (rope) in model sizes . I have not done any business with them but may in the furture. http://www.rwrope.com/knot_tyers/ropes.htm

We all take are chances when dealing with people we don't know. Please understand my remarks are only my opinions and not recommendations.
Hope this infomation my be of value.
