New Maquettes Kits
« on: December 13, 2007, 11:22:31 PM »

Gents,

Does anyone have experience with building any of the New Maquettes kits?

http://www.westbourne-model.co.uk/New-Maquettes-model-boats.htm

I am intertested in starting on a plank on frame model & their Le Jocelyne or Le Marsouin caught my eye.  Also any input on their quality of their fittings compared to Aeronaut or others?  Many thanks!

Good to see you back on line hermill. :D

Have the 5months of decorating finished yet? ::)
I hope so.

If you get this it would be great to see a build thread.

Herr Tiger,

No, the 5+ months of waterboarding, er, I mean decoration is a full month behind schedule & we'll be lucky to not be living in a tent come 30 January.  Even though the hobbies are on hold, I'm still collecting enough kits to open my own LHS one day.  {-) I do do have a few small projects working that I put a couple hours in each week after work.

Will drop you a note off the boards so we can get together for a few beers so I can fill you in.

Cheers!

Chuck

Isn't it strange that no one appears to have any knowledge of a French kit maker who supposedly has been in business for more than 40 years?

I can understand the ignorance if I brought up this question on one of the US forums, but here?   I can't even get an answer from several well-known hobby sources that I
sent inquries to asking about these kits they advertise, if they could provide any build reviews, etc...   ???

www.westbourne-models.com
Used to stock them in UK.

Or
Try a PM to Romainpek

French guy.

Cool dude in Beijing, also visits this site, but has been busy for a while.

He will probably be able to point you at a site. Actually some of the French sites are very good. Just in French. ;)

Oui kapitan!  O0

Westbourne is one of the suppliers I've contacted without any success, & I've already sent out a few PMs to those from the continent but not our fellow expat to the north.  I'll be sure to send him a note today as well.
