Hi, I am just returning to the wonderful world of models after a break of several years.
I am 60% through a static model of Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic Challenger II built from plans in an old copy of Model Boats. This model wetted my appetite and looking for a project to keep me going for the next 18 months or so I have decided upon the Graupner Seabex One.
I opted for Seabex due in part to its overall size (1450 x 260mm) but mainly due to the number of toys on board, helicopter, deck cranes fire nozzles etc. To me (at the moment? :)) the fun is in the build rather than the sailing so I am looking forward to adapting the model to become unique - lots of great ideas at the moment but transferring the ideas to operational systems will be the challenge.
I will endeavour to keep some sort of photographic journal of the build, but would be great to hear from anybody else who is working on this to share ideas and solutions !!
