Argonaut III Submarine
« on: January 04, 2008, 10:16:28 am »

Hi

This is one of my recent projects made completely from scratch. This sub is intended to be big because all the difficulties I had on the interior arrangement in previous models, since I like them to reproduce the maxim functions possible, so in this case this sub will have a little more than 2 meters width.

So far this is what as bee made:

Now this will be difficulty, some of the terms/product names  I don't  know their correspondence in English  :embarrassed: well, lets see.

After some sandpaper work directly on the wood I used a alkyd resin base putty, sandpapered again an seeled with a clout of fiberglass (laminate).
After that I used poliester putty  to remove any defects detected.

That's it O0

In Portuguese is called "Betume de poliester" or "Betume Pedra"

By the way, what you see will not be the the finish model but the one used to make the mold.

There is always space for another sub  O0 I think our wife's agree on this >>:-( {-)

By the way, anyone as detailed images of this sub, perhaps someone that make vacations in France our live nearby  the Cite des Sciences were the Argonaut sits.

That would be a major help to detail this model  O0

After one month making some alterations in the hull since I find some usefull information that I did not have and after a huge amount of time sanding, this is what I have (don't look to much but believe me, some major alterations have been made) :-\

The red arrow shows the 0,3mm foil of aluminum that will cover the hull to simulate the panels, riveting and other details.
