Deans marine Royal Barge
« on: March 14, 2008, 07:33:06 pm »

I've just obtained a used one of these to do up.
I wondering whether to put three motors in like the fullsize boat. At the moment it has one with a Deans sticker on it.. a Kestral (?), 500 type? If using three motors I assume they would be smaller ones?
The present stern tube only just comes through the hull so it might have to come out, as the universal catches on the hull.
Can anyone who has built one of these offer any advice?
The boat is 762 mm long.
Thanks
Frank

Haven't built one of these but I do have a Deans Kestral motor in my Robbe PT15 . Lovely 5 pole motor gets my boat on the plane on 9.6v no bother.
You definitely wont want 3 of these.  O0

Decided to go for single prop shaft at the the moment, got one made to measure at Nautical Marine Models,

Anyone know where the original of this boat is, only refs on Google are the Deans Model, it's not the boat that's by the Briitania

What size prop are you using? and how much current does it draw?( IE what ESC are you using).
Thanks
