Tranny

Gone are the days when a 'tranny' was used to listen to music.

Before it was used for delivering parcels and builders vans, cross dressers and people with gender identity issues.

...listening to you all I have to submit, that my parents seem to have some relatives in the UK.

Mom use to say:
Young Sir- mind your saying or I`ll clean up your words (she use to wash out my mouth then with a bit of soap).

You should have it all better as we did.

As long as you put your legs under my table, you do what you have been told.

Wait until dad returns home (then there was no discussion- either a slap or nuffink)

Eat your veggies up, they are good for you (never understood why all these healthy thingies use to be in spinach and not in sweets)

Dad use to say:
I still wonder if your mom has bought you from some gypsies

Young lad, I will give you something to think/grind/smile/cry about

Sayings from all around:

When you enter a bus: Good morning! (Most busdrivers here had made their license somewhere on a camel-path, don`t speak German either).

When you are handicaped:
Sir/Madam, will you please take my seat.

Sorry, may you please tell me the way to... (nowadays it is: "Hey pricker, where`s the f*ß%&§ townhall)

When you enter the doctor: Good morning- how are we today, any problems?

And all the other usualls:
Good morning
Have a nice day
How are you
Nice to meet you
How is the family

Seems like we are becoming reaaly old.......

I'm the Minister, what a disaster, it's my responsibility, so I resign

Something that is always heard is
"I have full confidence in the minister"
invariably within hours of the rumour starting, and on average, about a fortnight before said minister "resigning".

... who remembers the commercial-spot of Timex, where a fist with the watch smashed through a window?

... or the first Mini-Coopers at the Rallye Monte Carlo?

... the Formula 1 cars with double front-axles?

... Nicky Lauda with full blond hair

... The Rubbettes

... Ozzy Osbourne biting a bats head off

... Deep Purples "Sweet Child in Time"

... The first Mini-skirts

... the time when we thought, everybody age 30 upwards is uncool be cause of being OLD....

I remember Timex Mariner watches being towed behind an ocean liner (remember them?)
Mini Coopers and Padded Hopkirk
Tyrrell F1 cars, full of innovations
Nikky Lauda with hair
I remember the Vandellas better than the Rubettes
Never witnessed Ozzy with his bat.  Remember the headlines about "Freddy Starr ate my Hamster"
and Deep Purple
Memory of the first mini skirts was that lasses with legs like that should have waited for a different fashion. (Steptoe & Son quote "Queen Annes legs was short and bandy")
Over 30's uncool?  Only those who aren't on this forum.
Welcome back, Ensign.

The only problem with mini skirts was that they lead to the introduction of tights and the demise of stockings, suspenders and the "giggle line"!

The biggest problem with mini skirts was the number of times I nearly ran into the back of stationary traffic because I couldn't keep my eyes on the road!! :P

My first experience with a miniskirt was our female trainer for swimming in school. I was age 15, she had a miniskirt and was a real long-legged bird. Then there was a towel on the floor and she bended down to pick it up   :o ..... Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.........

Is a mini-skirt sexier than a swimming costume/bikini?....seeing that she was swimming and all....
