Anyone remember Casey Jones.. kids programme back in the 60s.

Chimneys' on fire dad!

Shell shaped exhaust pipe deflectors as fitted to tailpipes of cars (have just fitted one to my Austin)

Crystal set

Waiting for the radio or telly to warm up when switched on.

Dogs roaming housing estates. When they walked, they would 'crab' along the road as though their chassis was misaligned or hop along on three legs.

... and what about 'Four Feather Falls' then??  O0

Oh and the travelling fair's waltzer to Elvis' 'wooden heart' being blasted out across the estate - absolute magic!  ;)

and 'watch out - here come the teddy boys!'  :o

Billy Smarts travelling circus complete with animals.

Hours spent in the menagerie mouth wide open as the lion roared at you or better still the ELEPHANT pooped. Gee they were the biggest t--ds I have ever seen.

Now hwere's a thing which you might remember about travelling fairs. They would play rock nroll music (in the 60s) really loudly and when they hit the switch to run the dodgems, the volt drop would cause the record player to slow down and the music would start to drawl until the cars picked up enough speed... then the music would creep back up to speed also. I went on the dodgems at a show last summer and was actually disappointed that the music never changed speed.....AAArgh, wretched modern technology totally destroyed the effect for me!  :'(

What about
1, When you cross the road use the green cross code

2, For hands that do dishes can be soft as your face with mild green fairy liquid

3, AHHHHhh Bisto

4, If you want to know the time ask a policeman

5, If you break your leg dont come running to me! (my mum when we climbed on the coal bunker out the back)

I recall on Watch with mother, Mary Mungo and Midge.

Now the Clangers were those little creatures who made funny noises whilst living in moon craters??

My all time favorite was Catweazle, I still call the phone at home the Tellingbone.

Twelve are they that circle round
if power you seek they must be found
Look for where the 13th lies
mount a loft the one who flies.

Ahh memories

Don't consider myself that old.....Deep Purple, The Who etc. etc.

Unfortunately not  :(

"sticky backed plastic", what John Noakes couldn't cover with that, Blue Peter must have started many a small child on the model building
trail. Not sure about the UK now but here in Sweden there is a dearth of "build it yourself" things on kiddies TV...
