Humbrol enamel tins
« on: January 11, 2008, 10:06:05 am »

I know this might sound a little strange, but can someone who has one of the small humbrol enamel paint tins to hand (I don't at the moment) please measure the height and width of the tin, and post the measurements into this thread. Thanks.

I'm trying to find small/medium size hobby/craft storage box with cantilevered tray(s) to keep all my smaller tools and painting related things ins - I'm hoping that I can find one with trays deep enough to take Humbrol enamel paint tins.

I use an aluminiun cantilever box from B&Q.  The humbrol tins sit in it perfectly and the box was not very expensive.  You can stick all your bigger stuff such as thinners in the base which is fitted with moveable partitions.

Not sure I've seen that in B+Q - how big is this box? I'm not looking for a huge toolbox type a thing, just a small box/case that can sit on a shelf in my spare bedroom upstairs.

Right, thought I'd found a man of incredible bravery.
So your moneys your own, have you tried Maplins, they have loads of storage boxes. O0

Those pigeon hole type storage chests from the dreaded IKEA are very good for model stuff - the ones with 3 drawers on top, 3 in the middle and one across the bottom are very useful, and they'll take Humbrol tins 2 high.

I think the new Chinese manufacturers have made some subtle changes to the tins...particularly with the lids.
