schottel drive
« on: January 26, 2008, 05:12:08 am »

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what 'footprint' a schottel drive requires inside a hull, including the space required for the motor and servo?

Thanks

Thanks Stav.

Could you possibly give me some dimensions? Like length and breadth of the whole installation?

Reason is, I am working on an idea and need to get a feel for how much space I need for two of these things.

Thanks

The black Graupner ones are a fair bit bigger, if you need the sizes of these let us know.

From the front of the motor to the back of the drive is about 25cms you need about 7cm head room, ie from hull bottom to under deck. They are about 6cm wide.
The servo is mounted with the drive, unlike the Marx one, You can just see it at the rear end under the gear wheel, which is mounted directly on the servo.
